Does it work with FileMaker Pro 7/8?
FileMaker Pro 5/6 and 7/8 files are provided as part of your download.
Do I need FileMaker Pro?
When you request a download, links will be included for a standalone Mac and Windows application which can import and export data from most any datasource. Alternatively, we also offer a web service which can be called directly from your custom-developed application.
What is RDI™
91% of mailing addresses in the United States are classified as residential. RDI™-enabled software helps you make informed shipping decisions by identifying whether a delivery type is classified as residential or business. If you are shipping to residences, you may lower costs by shipping with the Postal Service and avoid residential delivery surcharges as some shipping companies charge a higher price for delivery to a residence. What is DPV™
DPV™ is a technology available from the United States Postal Service© to help mailers identify inaccurate or incomplete addresses. The DPV System assists mailers in obtaining accurate delivery address information and facilitates identification of erroneous addresses contained in mailer address files. Mailer use of DPV™ helps to reduce the amount of undeliverable as addressed (UAA) pieces, which in turn will result in more efficient postal mail processing and delivery operations. Does it work with Lasso?
Yes. You can perform address validation by adding a simple tag to your Lasso files. Pass the address data to the tag and the cleaned up address information is returned. Please email us for further information about the address validation tag.
How does it compare to other services?
We believe we provide more functionality for less cost that other vendors. There is no need for dedicated mailing software on your desktop, per transaction fees or monthly service fees.
How does it work with my database?
It's very easy to integrate with your existing datbases! Included in the documentation is a step-by-step walkthru of how we created a database and linked to the Address Validation files. It should take under 30 minutes for a developer to link an existing solution with our files. There is also a sample database called "integration example" which was created based on our integration walkthru.
Do you provide Move-Update service?
NRG intends to provide Move-Update service in the near furture. This will likely be an add-on to the Address Validation service.
How often should I validate my customer address database?
It is suggested by industry experts that you validate your addresses at the time of data entry and again every three months.
How does NRGvalidate work?
Your address information is processed by the Dial-A-Zip web service from Endicia.com. Unlike other address validation options, your data is transferred securely over the internet and there are no extra costs or per-transaction fees.
Is there any problems with Windows?
The installer requires you to click (Browse) to find the folder in which FileMaker Pro 5.x or greater is installed so that plug-ins can be placed in the proper directories. In addition, the Java Runtime Environment must be installed, which can be downloaded at the Sun Website.
