NRGship - Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a digital scale?
NRGship has built-in support for Mettler Toledo PS60 and Fairbanks Ultegra digital scales connected to serial ports on Mac OS and Windows. On Mac OS, for serial scales, you will also need to use a USB->Serial adapter cable. We have tested, and support, scales connected using Keyspan USA-19HS Serial USB adapters. Mettler Toledo PS60 USB scales are also supported with the latest version of NRGship. Mettler Toledo serial scales should be configured per MT UPS specs for "default 4" communications. - Only the Mettler Toledo PS60 has been tested, but other MT scales with the same command set should be fully compatible - New MT scales have built-in USB cables but these have not been tested and are not supported at this time). Fairbanks Ultegra was tested with serial connection These scales can be purchased thru the UPS Customer Technology Program. You may also find reasonably priced used units on eBay.
Every time I ship I get an error stating "Your invoice may vary from the displayed reference rates"
This is not an error, it's simply a warning from UPS stating that the rates they are providing are subject to change due to re-rating of your package because of weight disrepancy, residential delivery, or some other issue. *Versions of NRGship prior to v1.1.2 should be upgraded to the latest release as label printing is halted when this warning message is received.
How do I print a daily manifest?
Unlike users of WorldShip, there is no need to produce a daily manifest for your driver as all information is transmitted electronically upon shipment. Your driver simply picks up all packages with no need to scan anything. We do provide a printable manifest which can be used for internal reporting.

Why am I having trouble printing to a USB connected printer on Windows?
We require that the thermal printer be captured as an LPT port. From DOS you can easily capture a networked printer by issuing the command net use lpt3: \\dellbert\zebratlp /persistent:yes where lpt3 = the LPT port you'd like to use and \\dellbert\zebratlp = the network path to the printer if you are printing to a USB connected printed you will need to SHARE the printer as a network device and then use the command above to map the share to a LPT port.
Why are my thermal printer labels printing upside down?
We have found that some printers default to "bottom up" printing. The printer needs to be re-configured to print "top up". To do this, create a text file on your hard drive using any text editor and include the text "ZT". Save to disk. Now FTP to your printer and issue a command "put" with the file you created. Now when you print labels they will output correctly.
